Katherine Kay is a British journalist, an author and broadcaster for BBC World News America. She is a graduate of modern languages at the St Hilda's College, Oxford.

In 1990 'Katty' as she is fondly called, became the BBC World Service's correspondent in Zimbabwe. She worked in London for BBC World Service radio. In 1992, Katherine worked in Tokyo for BBC News Service and later in California in 1996. In 2004, she began co-presenting the BBC World news bulletins with Mike Embley. In 2007 she became correspondent to presenter Matt Frei.

Katty has co-written two books titled Womenomics with Claire Shipman and "The Confidence Code: The Science and Art of Self-Assurance—What Women Should Know was" with Shipman.
