Dominic Barton, born in Uganda is a Canadian management consultant and business executive. He is a graduate of the University of British Columbia.From 2009 to 2018, Dominic served as the Managing Director for McKinsey & Company.
He worked as a currency analyst for N M Rothschild & Sons in London after graduating.He was employed as a management consultant for McKinsey & Company in 1986. In 1997, he was moved to the McKinsey Office in Seoul, South Korea. Dominic thrived in the Asian country while being in the good books of the South Korean government.
In 2009, he was voted to be the global managing director of McKinsey and Company because of his success in South Korea with the McKinsey branch. Dominic consecutively served three terms as Managing Director for McKinsey. He was named the 11th Chancellor for the University of Waterloo in 2018.
