Oliver Hart

Oliver Hart is an American economist and the present Andrew E. Furer Professor of Economics at Harvard University. He is a graduate of Mathematics from King’s College, Cambridge. He also has a Masters in Economics from the University of Warwick.

In 1984, Oliver lectured at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and since 1993, has lectured at Harvard University. In 1997, he became the premier Andrew E. Furer Professor of Economics. In 2000, he served as chairman of the Harvard economics department until 2003. Oliver won the Nobel Prize in Economics with Bengt Holmström for their work on contract theory. In 19995, he release a book titled Firms, Contracts, and Financial Structure.
