Robin Li

Robin Li, also Li Yanhong is a Chinese Internet entrepreneur and the co-founder of the popular search engine, Baidu. Born in China, Robin has made his mark as a Chinese being one of the richest people in China possessing a net worth of 18.5 billion US Dollars as of October 2017. Li is also a member of the 12th Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference.

With a degree in Computer Science at the State University of New York at Buffalo, Li founded Baidu with Eric Xu in the year 2000. In 2004, Li became the Chief Executive Officer of Baidu and has been the CEO ever since. Baidu got listed on NASDAQ in 2005 becoming the Chinese largest search engine amassing over 80% of the market share by search query.

In 2001, Li was named one of the Chinese Top Ten Innovative Pioneers. In subsequent years, he was named one of IT Ten Famous Persons, second session of the Chinese Software Ten Outstanding Young Persons, World’s Best Business Leader by the American Business Weekly and many more outstanding recognitions. He was also appointed by Ban Ki-Moon as co-chair of the Independent Expert Advisory Group on Data Revolution for Sustainable Development.
